Christmas jumper sales in and around Retford leapt this month after HBPW agreed to take part in a national fund raising initiative to raise much needed cash for the Save the Children charity!
Christmas Jumper Day, organised by StC in conjunction with John Lewis and Morrisons Supermarkets, called upon workers across the UK to don a festive sweater and donate cash to the worthy cause.
HBPW Partner, Helen Haynes, said: “It was a fun day that everyone was delighted to get involved with. There was the odd Fair Isle fanatic and more than one of two novelty knitwits, however, I am happy to report that there was a 100% turn out!”
Save the Children say every £1 donated will pay for a day’s high-nutrient food for a malnourished child.
