It’s not very often that HBPW keeps its projects a complete secret, but a recent job required such discretion that it is impossible to articulate too much of the ‘what’ and certainly none of the ‘where’!
The event in question happened ‘Down South’ confides Managing Partner, Paul Withers which, to those unfamiliar with HBPW’s Nottinghamshire head office, translates as south of Retford!
“The assignment was to convert an old bus garage into a high security storage facility, which we achieved by building a steel structure within a structure featuring reinforced concrete floors.
“The result was a highly secure, multi compartmental facility which is temperature and humidity controlled, so that high value items such as silverware and paintings can be safely stored.”
The two storey facility, featuring lifts, is expected to be used by high net worth individuals.
“It goes without saying that our client and, indeed the contractors, have asked to remain low profile on this occasion,” said Paul. “I have supported them in this,” he added, “and, at the time of writing, have finished eating all the drawings so that there is no risk of another Brink’s-Mat robbery!”
