Keltbray Rail has joined the ranks of HBPW’s new clients, asking the firm to provide engineering support as part of its Network Rail bridge inspection programme in Cardiff and Swansea.
Associate, Mark PartrIdge, visited eight bridges in South Wales as part of the project, measuring each one in order to produce detailed drawings for Keltbray.
“The bridges vary in age, some being Victorian and others from the early 1900’s. They have obviously become weathered by time and, although the engineering element was at a minimum, I still had to provide drawings so that maintenance work could be carried out.
“It was largely a painting exercise but, where there was an engineering requirement, I was on hand to advise. HBPW is delighted to be working with Keltbray Rail and, hopefully, this initial project will be the first of many.”
Four of the bridges are in Swansea and four in Cardiff.
