Pinewood Studios, famous as the movie production home for the likes of Star Wars and Harry Potter, have been given some spellbinding design input by HBPW Associate, Shaun Strugnell!

Faircloth Construction called on Retford’s answer to Professor Dumbledore (head of Hogwarts and the man with the magic touch!) when asked to construct a new steel workshop at the sprawling Buckinghamshire facility.

“Pinewood is only eight miles from Heathrow and has an amazing reputation on the international movie stage so, when the chance to align ourselves with this premier brand, came along we were thrilled,” said Shaun.

“We have only done the steelwork designs for the 40m x 22m workshop and, right now, it is hard to say exactly how it will be used, however, there is every possibility that it could become a post-production facility in the creation of some new world, adventure or mythical planet. Every once in a while engineering becomes even more exciting!”

Synonymous with some of the big and small screen’s most enduring productions over its 85-year history, Pinewood’s iconic UK studios are just 20 miles from central London.

Home to the legendary 007 Stage, a further 23 stages, 3 TV studios, the unique permanently-filled Underwater Stage, one of Europe’s largest exterior tanks, acres of backlot and thousands of square feet of production office and workshop space, Pinewood is said to have everything movie makers might want it one place.

The final adventure in the Harry Potter film series was shot in part and mixed at Pinewood Studios. The film also made use of the world famous 007 Stage to creates sets that include the Dark Forest and also D Stage where Kings Cross and the Hogwarts Entrance Hall staircase were built.
