Going The Extra Mile (At Least!)

HBPW’s newest Partner, Jon Livesey, is a man who likes to go the extra mile for his clients and, as someone who has walked the 1247 miles from Lands End to John O’Groats, you might say he’s had more practise than most!

Jon, who joined the firm earlier this month, began his working life with Pell Frischmann and, whilst there, he and his wife, Teresa – also an engineer – scraped together their holiday entitlements to embark on the three month adventure.

“We’ve both been keen walkers for years,” said Jon, “and regularly travel to Scotland to get in some walking. Teresa and I had already done Wainwright’s coast to coast walk from St Bees to Robin Hood’s Bay so our 85 day stroll from Land’s End to John O’Groats seemed liked the next natural progression!

“With just eight days of rainy weather – four of those light showers – we had an amazing time and apart from very tired feed we both finished intact, me 21 pounds lighter!”

Jon, who graduated from Leeds University in 1995, has worked predominately in Civil Engineering structures which has involved inspection, assessment & design of bridges, culverts and retaining walls for both highways and rail projects.
