When he’s not visiting construction sites or supervising engineering projects, HBPW Managing Director, Paul Withers, can usually be found at a Rotary meeting.
For the uninitiated Rotary is a worldwide organization made up of thousands of individual clubs at which business professionals and community leaders volunteer time, talent and resources in order to remedy vital community needs. Club meetings also provide a unique environment for business networking.
Paul, who is a member of the Rotary Club of Retford, becomes president this month after 24 years as a Rotary member. He joined in 1989 after he was awarded a Rotary Group Study Exchange Scholarship to Canada the previous year. Paul joined the Retford club in 2000.
He said: “My trip to Canada had a lasting effect on me and I am proud to have been a loyal member of Rotary for so long. Indeed I am delighted to have been recognised with this honour and look forward to taking on this new challenge over the coming year.
